World Braille Day: January 4th
January 4th is World Braille Day.
This anniversary was adopted at the World Blind Union General Assembly, which was held from November 20th to 25th, 2000.
In 1824 (some say 1825), Louis Braille, a student at the world’s first school for the blind,Paris Kun Blind Institute, invented the Braille Braille notation.
January 4th is his birthday.
He was only 15 years old when he invented Braille.
