
Independence Day of Latvia: November 18th
November 18th is the Independence Day of the Republic of Latvia.
On this day of 1918, Latvia became independent of the Russian Empire, but was occupied again by the Soviet Union in 1940.
The following year, 1941, it was occupied by Germany and again by the Soviet Union in 1944.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, he resumed independence again.
The Republic of Latvia is a country with a capital in Riga, which faces the Baltic Sea in northern Europe.
