International Day for the Abolition of Slavery: December 2nd

December 2nd is the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

In 1949, the Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others was adopted.

In line with this, the United Nations has established December 2nd as that anniversary.
