International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty: October 17th

October 17th is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

It was established at the United Nations General Assembly in December 1992 to mourn the victims of poverty, hunger and violence.

October 17th was chosen for this anniversary because many countries already set it as the day for overcoming poverty.
