March 21st is “International Day of Nowruz”.
In February 2010, the United Nations approved the Persian-origin New Year’s event, Nowruz, and established this day as an anniversary.
March 21st was the first day of the Iranian calendar.
This day is “Vernal Equinox Day” in Central Asia and Africa.
Nowruz means “new day” in Persian.
Nowruz includes both Eastern and Western cultures and has had a great influence on each other.
It was registered as a “UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage” in 2009.
