International Midwives' Day

International Midwives’ Day: May 5

May 5th is “International Midwives’ Day”.

This anniversary was proposed by the International Council in The Hague, the Netherlands, in August 1987.

In October 1990, at the International Council held in Kobe, Japan, this day was officially enacted as “International Midwives’ Day” and started in 1992.
