International Women’s Day: March 8
March 8th is “International Women’s Day”.
On this day in 1904, a demonstration by a female worker took place in New York.
They also appealed to women to give suffrage.
German socialist Clara Zetkin announced at the International Socialist Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1910 that the day would be a memorial day for women’s political freedom and equality.
Since 1975, this day has been designated as “International Women’s Day” by the United Nations.
