Japanese Yen’s Day: March 4

March 4th is “Yen Day”.

On this day in 1869, the “Japanese Yen” was introduced in Japan.

In 1871, the quaternary system of “Ryo, Bu, Shu, and Mon”, which had been the currency unit until then, was abolished, and it was reborn as a new decimal system of “Yen, Sen, Ri”.
