National Sleepy Head Day in : July 27th Finland
July 27th is National Sleepy Head Day in Finland.
Finland has a culture of waking up those who are oversleeping on this day.
It’s said that you can throw them up in the lake to get up.
This comes from the legend of “Seven Sleepers” of the ancient Turkish city, Ephesus.
They were persecuted and fled to Finland because they were Christians there.
Hundreds of years have gone by while hiding in the cave and sleeping, and by the time they woke up, Christian persecution was gone.
