December 6th is Saint Nicholas Day, which is celebrated in honor of Saint Nicholas anniversary of death.
Nicholas is the man originated Santa Claus.
The priest Nikolaus was seeing the poor girl selling herself and felt like supporting her budget.
So, he threw a gold coins into the chimney of her house.
These coins then went into the socks that had been dried in front of the fireplace.
This is the story of Santa Claus that is still being handed down, and in Europe this day is also called the Feast of Saint Nicholas.
