July 7th is the day ”Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons” was adopted.
The Treaty was adopted on this day of 2017 with the aim of abolishing and eradicating nuclear weapons.
It’s also known as “Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Testing, Production, Stockpiling, Transfer, Use and Threat of Use of Nuclear Weapons and on their Elimination”.
As of June 2020, 38 countries have ratified and it will come into effect 50 days after reaching 50.
