World Press Freedom Day: May 3

May 3rd is World Press Freedom Day.

World Press Freedom Day, as the name implies, is a memorial day set by the United Nations General Assembly to reaffirm the importance of press freedom.

It was triggered by the adoption of the Windhoek Declaration in Africa on May 3, 1991 in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
