4 parts amber jamaican rum
4 parts martinique molasses rum
2 parts orange curacao
2 parts orgeat syrup
4 parts fresh lime juice
1 part simple syrup - Preparation
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice.
Shake and pour into a double rocks glass or a highball glass. - Notes
The martinique molasses rum used by Trader Vic was not an agricole rum but a type of “rummy” from molasses.
The mai tai is a cocktail made of rum, curacao liqueur, orgeat syrup, and lime juice.
It is one of the characteristic cocktails in tiki culture.
